Made of Tuftec, a 9-Ply exterior birch plywood so it won't break, warp, or crack - even in adverse weather conditions. This lighthouse is very strong so that it will not warp even in the harshest weather conditions. After it is hand built it is then primed and painted with an exterior paint that will handle the elements. Our lighthouses come standard with an electric plug in light, however, you may upgrade to a Solar Light, Flashing Light, Rotating Light or Strobe Light. Use the drop down menu to make your selection. Lighthouse at Barnegat: Known affectionately as “Old Barney” this conical, brick and iron lighthouse is located in Barnegat Lighthouse State Park on the northern tip of Long Beach Island. This 172 foot tall tower was finished in 1857 and replaced a much shorter (40 foot) tower that was being threatened by the encroaching sea. In fact, the old tower actually collapsed in the same year that the new one was finished. The flashing white beacon signals every 10 seconds.
