Amish Large Barn Martin House 12 Compartments

Every year, beginning in late January, purple martins begin the migration into the United States. Purple martins will return year after year to the same martin house. Martins are the largest species of swallow, and they are completely reliant on humans for their shelter. One benefit of having a martin colony around is that they will devour large amounts of insects. At one time, almost every farmhouse had houses for purple martins. Martin houses are not as common today as they once were but they are again becoming more popular. In general, martins prefer houses in relatively open areas. If possible, never put a martin house closer than 30 feet to a tree. Also remember that martins are colonial birds and like to nest together. Widely scattered houses built for solitary pairs of birds are usually unsuccessful. Try to put your martin house near open water as well. Our Martin bird house is handcrafted with attention to detail by an Amish craftsman. This Amish made wooden Martin house will add a rustic touch to your garden and yard. This Martin house is a mansion of a birdhouse! Bird watching is one of the most popular hobbies today. Start attracting a variety of birds with one our American made bird feeders and bird houses! Our birdhouses are beautifully crafted by skilled woodworkers in Ohio. Add a touch of rustic charm to your lawn or garden. This birdhouse is shipped fully assembled and generally ships within a 2 to 5 days of purchase.
