Amish Deluxe Ladder Back Dining Room Chair

Lancaster Collection

Originally appearing during the Middle Ages in various parts of Europe, ladder-back dining chairs gained popularity because of their tall backs constructed of horizontal slats between two uprights, which represented a ladder.  By the 17th century, ladder-backs chairs had also become popular in England and shortly thereafter were introduced to colonial America, where they were prized for their tall stature.

Later styles of ladder-backs were often influenced by the Shaker tradition, which brought a simplified look to the chairs along with a utilitarian design philosophy.  Our Amish made Deluxe Ladder-Back dining room chairs follow that tradition.  They are meant to be used, designed for living.  Blending their rich European ancestry with their rugged American functional purpose, our Shaker ladder-back dining chairs will be a favorite of your family for years to come - furniture that endures.

But the value of these solid wood masterpieces lies not only in their heritage.  Made of solid wood, these dining room chairs are stable, sturdy, strong and durable - made to last for generations to come.  They are beautifully finished for a charm that will bring warmth to any dining room.

Beautiful, durable and best of all - comfortable.  With molded seats and tilted backs, you'll never tire of sitting in these chairs.

Handcrafted by the Amish so that every detail is made with a master chair-maker's touch, these dining chairs are made with integrity and competence.

And because they are Amish handcrafted, they are also made in America - the icing on the cake!

We also offer our matching Deluxe Ladder Back Swivel Bar Stool.
