Hailing from a quaint wood shop in the heart of Indiana's Amish country, the Venice bed is carefully hand crafted from solid hardwood, ensuring a lifetime of service at the heart of any suite. When it's time, you can be sure that your bed has enough integrity and strength to offer a cozy place for future generations to adore.

The overall style hints at a classic Shaker interpretation, focusing on utility first and letting the ornate details come from the twists and turns in the one-off grain patterns in the hardwood. The large 55" tall headboard, capped with a thick top and molding, leads nicely into the two large panels that work as the backdrop. Here you can opt for hardwood, or choose your favorite fabric or leather to add your personal touch to the piece. At the base, two thick solid wood side panels connect to the footboard, where you can choose the standard 30" tall double panel, or opt for a convenient two-drawer storage unit, as shown, to stow linens and bedding.

Joining the two side rails together are a series of wooden slats, dovetailed using cast aluminum brackets and fixed with support posts in the center. Combined, these pieces form a sturdy base for your mattress and box spring - ensuring a lifetime of sag-free support.

The standard construction of this bed requires a mattress and box spring, unless under-bed storage is added. As an option, you can have this bed constructed with a platform above the slat system to be used with a mattress only, without adding under-bed storage in the options menu.
