Amish furniture is ideal in a baby's room

by Tom Grimes

When furnishing a nursery, parents may want to combine function and form, and creating the ideal environment can be easy with a few simple pieces of Amish furniture.

The first item that any expectant parents should purchase is a crib, as this will be the baby's haven. Once the crib is in place, individuals can begin to fill the space around it with functional pieces.

Rocking chairs are a nursery staple, as they provide seating for nursing mothers. Homeowners will want to position the chair away from nearby walls to avoid marking the wall when rocking back.

New parents may want to consider purchasing a daybed for the baby's room. "[The daybed will] come in handy during nursing or if your baby is ill," designer Dan Vickery told HGTV. "It can also be a great [place] where older children can sit and not feel excluded but still be out of the way."

Parents may want to invest in Amish furniture - due to it's fine craftsmanship, one need not worry about shoddy designs that could break and injure the baby. To help unify the room's aesthetic, homeowners should purchase pieces of the same style.ADNFCR-3308-ID-19806077-ADNFCR
