Amish playhouses unleash your little one's imagination

by Tom Grimes

Children these days are far too distracted. With almost constant Internet connectivity, text messaging and hundreds of cable channels, there's virtually no time left to simply play outside.

An Amish-made playhouse will quickly become an irresistible item in your child's life. The allure of his or her own house cannot be denied and has the added benefit of encouraging creativity. Whether it's pretending to be an architect, a mother or an interior designer, your little one will absolutely adore spending time in the tiny residence.

Make no mistake: these are essentially just small houses! The Grand Portico Mansion playhouse boasts 22 working playhouse windows, four stately columns, and a fully-functional interior, complete with staircase.

These DIY playhouse kits are perfect for handymen or unskilled parents. Each playhouse will take two adults approximately four to eight hours to construct. Every shipment comes with all you need to put your playhouse together. All you need are a few tools, roof shingles, a drip edge and paint, all of which you can easily acquire at your local hardware store.
