Janet and Larry French of Huntington Beach, California, recently decided to transform their old, unused backyard into an area of the home that seamlessly blends the outdoors with the interior, according to The Los Angeles Times.
"The idea was to create an outdoor living room in the front yard," Adam Wheeler, who designed the project, told the news provider. "That was the big gesture."
The Frenchs were particularly interested in the idea, because they wanted their residence to be a memorable scene for parties. The new patio was designed in the style of an art gallery, complete with picture rails and recessed spotlights, to make it easy to exhibit different pieces.
Eucalyptus plants surround a fireplace, making for a calm and natural setting for a gathering of any size, the news source reports. Cedar panels have also replaced the sliding glass doors that connected the former area to the house, making for a subtle and beautiful divider.
Pieces of Amish outdoor furniture can also be ideal for those who want to give an outdoor space a fresh look. Amish Cypress Patio pieces are durable, boast an understated elegance and can add a distinctive, natural touch to any room.
