Prepare a bedroom for years to come with an Amish chest of drawers

by Tom Grimes

Sharon Litton of Norfolk, Virginia, recently had her new home designed to accommodate the needs of her two growing children so that it would be as comfortable for them in five years as it is in a week, according to HamptonRoads.com.

The news source reports that the home features a kitchen with sleek, granite countertops and soft-close cabinets, and three children's rooms all of which have private bathrooms. Litton's 12-year old daughter, Jane, even has a windowseat in her bedroom that overlooks a nearby park.

The master suite has a glittering marble floor, pedestal sinks and a spacious closet. There is also a mud room, where there are hooks and cubbies that are meant for the children's belongings before they outgrow them.

Litton's strategy is to outfit the home with all the nooks and crannies that her three children - aged 11 to 14 - will require in the coming years.

Investing in pieces of Amish bedroom furniture can be a good plan for any homeowner looking for pieces that are built to last. An Amish chest of drawers is a multi-functional piece that can be a practical and handsome addition to any space, allowing storage space for toys, clothes and other accessories.
