MEDA offers hope and joy to women farmers in Ghana

admin 27/01/2014

DutchCrafters was honored to donate an Amish made rocking chair for Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA’s) latest venture to help the empower women in Ghana through their GROW (Greater Rural Opportunities for Women) project.  At the recent conference in Wichita, Kansas MEDA raised over 100,000 through auctions and donations from members towards the Ghana project that will help over 20,000 women farmers develop a soybean crop.  It was moving to hear the stories of the women farmers that have been assisted.

In The Marketplace Where Christian faith gets down to business December 2013 publication there is an article highlighting the specifics on the Ghana agricultural project entitled, “The Joy of Soy”.  Soybeans are the perfect crop to grow for their high nutritional content and ability to improve soil fertility.  MEDA has had an impact on millions in helping to create solutions to poverty across the world.  We at DutchCrafters are joyful that we could play a small part in this support.  To learn more about MEDA visit
