Since 1976 Please Touch Museum has been as much a Philadelphia staple as cheese steaks and the liberty bell. Considered "The Children's Museum" of the city, PTM was the first museum in the country whose target audience was families with children younger than seven, and also one of the first to have nationally recognized programs for under-privileged families. As its name suggests, PTM encourages hands on activity and learning as well as a philosophy that encourages play as a tool to promote creative thinking and problem solving skills. Recently relocated to Memorial Hall, PTM has now been open for over three decades and provided a unique learning environment for over a million visitors. The museum has certainly stayed true to their original mission of “enriching the lives of children by creating learning opportunities through play.” DutchCrafters was able to help PTM in October 2009 when the museum was in need of a new child's table and chair set for a section of the museum. Made of oak and hickory, this table chair set was needed for an exhibit that was opening within 4 weeks of the order. PTM had made a great decision in purchasing through DutchCrafters as our products are always 100% hand made in America by our Amish wood workers and use the most eco-friendly products available. Our deliveries can sometimes take from 4-12 weeks, depending on the item and availability; however we were easily able to accommodate the museums needs and made sure that the furniture arrived on time and in perfect condition.
