Thank You, New DutchCrafters Customer (Indoor Furniture Order)

Thank you for becoming part of the DutchCrafters family. By choosing DutchCrafters, you’ve joined the slow furniture movement. We reject the fast furniture industry that simply boxes up low quality, pre-built products that end up in the landfill. Instead, we’ll take the time to custom build your dream furniture just for you!   With your order, you receive more than a product. You get the individual attention of a personal furniture specialist. You may have already taken advantage of this service as you shopped and placed your order, but even if you ordered online, we’ll assign a specialist to you for the next step.    Here is an overview of what to expect now that you’ve placed your order.  

What Happens Now?

1) Review Order

First, your specialist will review your order and then send it to the woodworking shop in Indiana, Ohio, or Pennsylvania. If you haven’t selected a stain or upholstery yet, we’ll contact you and send samples for you to view before making a final selection.   After the woodworker receives the order information, the real work begins. Because of the Amish woodworkers’ limited use of technology, unfortunately, we can’t provide step-by-step tracking updates. However, we’re happy to give you a general estimate of what goes on behind the scenes.

2) Build Time

Quick Ship Orders

If you purchased quick ship products, they’re likely pre-built and need a finish and hardware added before they are shipped. This usually takes up to 6 weeks.   

Standard Orders

For other orders, your furniture starts being built after the woodworker receives the order. Your furniture will be built to your specifications by talented craftsmen in American woodworking shops. It usually takes 8-16 weeks for building and finishing the furniture, depending on the product. Estimated build times are available on each product page, and estimated completion date for your order will be provided on your order tracking page. 

3) Shipping and Delivery Process

You should receive an email from us when your order is ready for the delivery process, followed by a phone call as the driver schedules their cross-country delivery trip, but please allow 2-3 weeks for your furniture to be loaded and delivered on the truck’s next trip through your part of the country.
