The Log Cabin design is a popular quilt pattern among quilters and has thrived for years and year among Amish quilters. Traditionally, the Log Cabin quilt has been a scrap quilt using bits and pieces of left over material or old clothes being reused. Its narrow log shaped quilt pieces are often in varying lengths which make it possible to use many scraps that are not large enough for other patterns. There are numerous variations to the Log Cabin Quilt design which and many variations on the original are now in existence.
