Prepare dinner in style with an Amish cutting board

by Tom Grimes

When it comes to chopping onions or slicing tomatoes, any homeowner knows that the process can be a messy one which might leave counters dripping wet or scattered with bits of food. That's why getting a cutting board is always a wise choice: it will reduce clutter and protect surfaces.

However, most cutting boards may not be as appealing as those that are found in collections of Amish furniture. Some of these boards are carved from exotic woods and others from domestic, but all of them have a distinctive, colored display and many are crafted into shapes that are sure to please guests and chefs alike.

These cutting boards come in images of pigs, fish, cows, Christmas trees and even grapes and American flags, among others. Like all Amish pieces, they are also built to last for years, so one won't have to worry about replacing them in the near future.

Those who are looking for a more traditional and durable touch may opt for the bamboo butcher block cutting board, which is 2 inches thick and sure to stand up to even the toughest dinner preparations.
