Meet the Amish Furniture Makers: Luxury Office Furniture Collection

When you sit down at one of the desks in our Luxury Office Furniture Collection, you’re stepping into a story. That story starts with James—a dedicated Amish furniture maker in Ohio—and the five sons who now help carry his vision forward.

James and his sons have been building Amish executive desks since 2002. Their furniture is handcrafted, made to order, and built to last for generations. And they aren’t just building desks—they’re building a legacy.

“Yep,” James says with a grin, nodding at a desk with leather inlays. “This one’s my favorite.”

He’s pointing to the Amish Stonespire Executive Desk. With its refined panels, leather accents, and solid hardwood base, it’s the kind of desk that feels as powerful as it looks.

James knows desks. He started in a cabinet shop at age 15. Now in his own workshop, he’s focused on teaching the next generation—his sons—to do it right.

“I wanted a family business right here on the farm, where we could all stick together. That’s just what I wanted, you know? And now I’ve got it—and my boys love it.”

From the Buckingham U-Shaped Desk to custom variations of our Lincoln Corner Desk, James and his sons are always exploring new designs. They stay current by visiting trade shows, exploring new concepts, and building one-of-a-kind pieces from scratch.

This custom variation of the Lincoln Corner Desk is one of James’ own prototypes.

Quality wood is everything. No particle board. No shortcuts. Just solid hardwoods like cherry, oak, and maple, sourced from responsibly managed American forests.

“I know what a good oak or a good cherry acts like. I know how to work with them. That’s the kind of wood I work with.”

James and his team also welcome custom requests. You can choose the wood, dimensions, finish, hardware, even the layout. Every piece in the Luxury Office Collection is bench-built by hand, often featuring dovetail joinery, mortise and tenon construction, and soft-close drawers.
