Custom Options for Night Stands
Secret Sliding Top Security Tray
The secret sliding top security tray unlocks to reveal a secret tray at the top of the nightstand—a perfect place to keep jewelry, valuables, or emergency essentials. This tray is lined by felt for sound deadening, and protection of your valuables. Two lock types are available for this tray.
Hidden Magnet Lock
The hidden magnet lock is a great option because no keyhole or other indication of a compartment is visible. The user simply has to touch a magnet to the right spot on the back of the cabinet to unlock the sliding top. This is also the quickest option. It may be less secure than a key, however, for anyone who knows how to open it.
Key Lock
The key lock option provides more extensive security for your valuables. However, inspection of the back of the night stand will reveal the lock and hint that there may be a hidden compartment in the top of the night stand.
Slide Out Water Tray
The slide out water tray is an alternative to the secret sliding top. When this option is selected, the nightstand is built with a visible tray on the upper front of the nightstand, just under the top lip. This water tray can be pulled out for extra storage space on top of the nightstand. This cannot be added in conjunction with the secret sliding top, so it’s not seen in this video.
Power Strip Charging Port
A convenient power strip is located on the back of the nightstand to offer a charging port for your electronics just next to your bed. The easily accessible location means no fumbling around on the ground or floor for cords, and the power strip remains out of sight on the back of the stand.
LED Floor Night Light with Touch-Activated Switch
The last feature we offer that’s exclusive to nightstands is the LED nightlight with a touch activated switch. When you need to get up in the middle of the night and don’t want to turn on a bright light, an under-night stand LED floor light helps you to see where you’re going and prevent trips and falls without waking anyone up.
An added bonus: this light turns on and off with a simple tap on a touch activated button on the side of the nightstand. When you purchase your floor night light, simply request which side of the night stand you’d like your switch added to to ensure it’s easily accessible to you from bed.

Cedar Drawer Bottom
Cedar drawer bottoms are for fantastic for bedroom storage pieces. Cedar offers natural insect and pest repellent and a pleasant aroma. This helps to protect your blankets, linens, and any valuables you store in your bedroom storage pieces.
Drawer Slide Options
Soft Close Under-Mount Drawer Slides
Soft Close Under-Mount Drawer Slides are the premium option for bedroom storage drawers. The slides are hidden out of view underneath the drawer, exposing the beautiful wood drawer box on the sides. This option ensures a quiet, smooth close of the drawer, no matter how hard it’s slammed shut. Depending on the design of the storage piece, drawer boxes may be built a little wider and less tall to accommodate the hinges on the bottom.
Soft Close Side-Mounted Drawer Slides
The Soft Close Side-Mounted Drawer Slides offer many of the same benefits as the under mount slides. The quiet, soft close feature offers a luxury experience and avoids waking up anyone sleeping in the room! Drawer slides will be visible from the sides of the drawer with this construction method. Draw boxes may be built a little bit narrower and taller to accommodate the hinges on the sides.
Full-extension Side-Mounted Drawer Slides
Full extension side mounted drawer slides, our standard option, are smooth and durable. They allow the drawer to extend all the way to the back of the drawer to help load and unload contents easily. Like the other side-mounted slides, drawer boxes may be built narrower and taller to accommodate side mounted slides. They’ll be visible from the sides when the drawer is open.
Pop-out Rail Hidden Compartment
Another feature that is available available on some bedroom storage pieces, though not generally on nightstands, is a pop out rail hidden compartment. In between drawers, where you see a horizontal rail on the front face of the piece, a pop out hidden drawer can be added. To open this, simply push in on the rail and it will pop out to reveal a felt lined drawer.
Mirror-back Hidden Jewelry Drawer
The last hidden drawer available on bedroom storage pieces at DutchCrafters is a hidden drawer in the mirror atop some dressers. This vertical hidden drawer contains hooks to hang valuable jewelry. Then the compartment can be slid back behind the mirror when not in use.
