Mission furniture is traditionally built in Quarter-Sawn White Oak wood or Red Oak wood, seen in this video, with a mid-to-dark stain. The shape of the piece is classic Mission design: square, straight legs and vertical flat panels, complemented by the subtle curve of the arm rests. Additional integrated Mission details include thick, curving supports under arms and exposed mortise-and-tenon joints.

An optional motorized recliner mechanism offers the comfort of a power recliner with a wired remote. We recommend adding a rechargeable battery pack for power recliners that are situated in the middle of a room or far from a wall outlet to keep cords from becoming a tripping hazard or nuisance while cleaning.
Finally, you can choose to maximize exposed wood with the design shown in this video or cover some of the wood by adding comfortable padded arm rests with matching upholstery.
