The Amish Trinity Mission Wall Hugger Recliner displays traditional Mission style design with expert Amish craftsmanship, custom made to order just for you.
The Trinity Recliner’s Mission Design
Key features of the Trinity Recliner’s Mission style design include its silhouette, mortise-and-tenon details, and the wood type shown here.
Mission furniture is traditionally built in Quarter-Sawn White Oak wood or Red Oak wood, seen in this video, with a mid-to-dark stain. The shape of the piece is classic Mission design: square, straight legs and vertical flat panels, complemented by the subtle curve of the arm rests. Additional integrated Mission details include thick, curving supports under arms and exposed mortise-and-tenon joints.
Customizing Your Trinity Recliner
DutchCrafters furniture is made to order with your customizations. The Trinity recliner is a perfect option for the shopper who wants to make a Mission piece their own.
Wood Type Selection
We currently offer this chair in any of 10 wood types, including traditional Mission options and less-traditional options. You may opt for an untraditional wood type if your home features furniture, wood floors, or trim in other wood types—or if you prefer a luxurious upgrade to a smooth, dark wood like Walnut. We’re confident that this recliner will look great with any of these wood types:
- Red Oak wood (traditional for Mission style)
- Quarter Sawn White Oak wood (another traditional Mission choice)
- Brown Maple
- Hard Maple
- Cherry
- Rustic Cherry
- Hickory
- Rustic Hickory
- Walnut
Stain Color and Custom Upholstery
After selecting your wood type, stain selection comes next. The stain, combined with your choice of hundreds of leather or fabric upholstery options, will make a massive impact on the look of your piece. For this reason, we highly recommend you order stain and fabric samples to ensure the perfect fit for your home.
Additional Optional Features
This piece carries two more optional features:
An optional motorized recliner mechanism offers the comfort of a power recliner with a wired remote. We recommend adding a rechargeable battery pack for power recliners that are situated in the middle of a room or far from a wall outlet to keep cords from becoming a tripping hazard or nuisance while cleaning.
Finally, you can choose to maximize exposed wood with the design shown in this video or cover some of the wood by adding comfortable padded arm rests with matching upholstery.
