The Amish Mars Modern Heritage Slat Platform Storage Bed with Drawers accomplishes both, pairing an airy horizontal headboard with substantial storage built directly beneath the mattress. The headboard sets the bed apart. Wide hardwood slats run horizontally across the bed, leaving narrow openings between them that lighten the silhouette and introduce a strong architectural rhythm. The arrangement puts the grain of the wood on display while giving the bed a relaxed, uncluttered character.   Below the mattress, the design shifts from open to incredibly practical. Three large drawers built along the side of the platform claim space that would otherwise go unused. Bedding, extra pillows, seasonal clothing, or other bedroom belongings can live beneath the mattress instead of occupying another piece of furniture.   The broad, solid wood footboard balances the openness of the headboard and gives the bed a grounded presence. Softened corners temper the geometry, creating the kind of understated design that defines the Mars Modern Heritage collection.   This is where traditional American furniture making takes on a new expression. Amish craftsmanship and genuine hardwood provide the foundation, but the styling is edited, architectural, and comfortable in today's interiors. Select from the available hardwoods and finishes to shape the bed's final personality. Let the natural wood create warmth, take the design in a darker and more dramatic direction, or choose a quieter finish that emphasizes the simplicity of the horizontal form.   Turn the space beneath your bed into something useful without giving up the beauty of fine furniture.
