Amish Partner's Desk

At DutchCrafters we offer a wide variety of impressive executive partner’s desks which are also called double desks or double pedestal desks.  A partners desk is basically two pedestal desks pushed together without the seam or crack in the middle.  These outsized desks have a large top with two pedestals that are attached to a credenza often with a hutch top.  The pedestal desk is often shared by business partners in an office or partners and spouses in a home.  The desk top is large enough to allow ample space for two laptops, desk accessories can be stored inside the drawers and storage space that are usually on each side and the kneehole space allows for enough room to fit both worker’s legs.

The partners desk is a popular antique desk since it has been around since the early 1800s.  This desk style originated from England and was often used in the banking industry and with senior partners in businesses.  These antique partners desks from the 19th century were ornate and from high quality hardwood such as mahogany, oak or walnut woods.  They often had inlaid leather writing pads inset into the desk top to prevent scratching of the wood while writing.  Our Amish handcrafted partners desks are reproductions of this antique style.  Cherry wood furniture is becoming more popular then walnut and mahogany furniture which makes cherry wood the top choice for our partner's desks today.

The stately partner desk has a history of being used with the wealthy, upper class and powerful which makes it an ideal choice for Presidents.  The resolute desk is a style of partner’s desk which has been used by the following presidents in the White House - President Franklin Roosevelt, President John F. Kennedy, President Jimmy Carter, President Ronald Reagan, President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush and presently by President Barack Obama.

Our Amish partners desks can be customized to fit your needs and space.  Please call one of our Amish furniture specialists today with questions on our office furniture and your custom furniture needs.
