This solid wood hope chest comes with a flat-top design is constructed from beautiful red oak in Pennsylvania's Amish country.
Cedar-Lined Bottom
This hope chest comes standard with a cedar bottom.
The cedar bottoms began as a tradition to keep pests such as rodents and insects away from the chests contents. They are repelled and appalled by the scent of the oil in aromatic red cedarwood. The good news is, humans find the scent pleasant!
So, if you are a human, this is the hope chest for you!

Choose from a wide selection of Amish engravings to forever adorn the front of you legacy hope chest. You can also choose a custom option!
Add a Seat Rail
Adding a seat rail to the lid of a flat top chest not only turns the top into a bench, it adds the lines and flow of a distant mountain range. The aesthetics of adding the seat rail allows you to almost see a leafy horizon painted in the very oak trees this chest was constructed from.
Add a Seat Cushion
If you add the rail and plan on using it as a storage bench with a comfortable seat, don't forget to add the cushions. Once you select the seat rail in our menu options, you will be prompted to choose whether or not you want a cushion to go with it. If you select the cushion, you'll be offered a menu of fabrics that were carefully selected by our master woodworkers.

Add a Sliding Cedar Tray
If you are like us, then you can't have enough cedar inserts. If you would like a sliding tray to be inserted at the top of your chest, make sure you add the cedar tray in the options!
Add Full Cedar Lining
This chest comes standard with a cedar bottom but you can have the entire inside lined with cedar. Not only does it look great but it helps keep insects and other pests away!
