The founder of this fine collection tells us he subscribed to American Woodworker when his interest in fine woodworking began as a teenager. While he worked seven years building cabinets for a cabinet and furniture shop, his preference for building furniture helped lead him to produce his own line.

Exquisite beds and bedroom storage come from his modest shop that covers 5,000 square feet. There are three employees, and they have the workings of the shop down to a tee to make maximum use of their space.

These craftsmen study their craft as they practice it daily. They are always checking catalogs and magazines. While they lean toward building traditional styles, they are open to new designs that customers are looking for. The shop owner has trouble picking his favorite wood type. While he considers red oak wood “a best,” he and the woodworkers in his shop find the beautiful grains and unique characters of the different woods they work with very interesting, making it hard to pick one that they like over others.
