What is a Wall Hugger?

The wall hugger allows for placing the reclining loveseat closer to the outer walls of the room. A traditional recliner is limited due to its reclining mechanism. When pushing back to recline the back will fold backward while the base will stay stationary. The wall hugger mechanism uses a pivot system to move the center of the seat forward, taking up less room behind. Because of this, only 6" is needed between the loveseat and closest wall. A typical reclining system will call for at least a foot of room.

Self Reclining or Motorized

Our Dutton Reclining Loveseat is available in two reclining methods. The traditional push-back method relies on shifting bodyweight to recline the seat. Reclining is made easy by pushing away on the armrest and leaning back. When ready to return, sit up, and the mechanism will be activated to return. For an added luxury experience, opt for the motorized mechanism. The motorized mechanism is controlled by a convenient controller. Each side of the loveseat has its own remote. Hold down the bottom button to be smoothly transitioned to a reclined state. The release of the button stops the reclining process. When ready to return to the upright position, you only need to push the button. A backup battery is available for an additional upgrade option. The backup battery is perfect for those looking to place their loveseat in an area that is away from an outlet. The battery also comes in handy when experiencing a power outage. Each charge is good for 300 motions (upright to recline = 1 motion) and the battery is covered under a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
