- What defines Mission furniture? Mission furniture is known for its straight horizontal and vertical lines, exposed joinery, and simple, functional design. It highlights solid wood, especially quarter‑sawn oak, and emphasizes craftsmanship over ornamentation.
- Why is Mission style still popular today? Mission furniture remains a best‑selling category because of its durability, timeless design, and the beauty of natural hardwood. Customers appreciate its integrity and how effortlessly it fits into both classic and modern spaces.
- Is Amish furniture the same as Mission furniture? Not exactly—Mission is a style, while Amish is a method of craftsmanship. Amish artisans frequently build Mission pieces because the style aligns with their values of quality, simplicity, and long‑lasting construction.
- What woods are commonly used in Mission pieces? Traditional choices include oak and quarter‑sawn white oak, as well as cherry, maple, and walnut, depending on the look you want. These hardwoods offer strength and showcase the natural grain patterns for which Mission furniture is known.
- How long does an Amish Mission sofa last? With solid hardwood frames, mortise‑and‑tenon joinery, and high‑quality cushions, an Amish Mission sofa is built to last for decades and can often be passed down as an heirloom.

Customer Testimonials
Thomas K. from IL
We have purchased numerous pieces of furniture from DutchCrafters, and the experience, quality, and delivery have been outstanding every time. A special shout-out goes to our DutchCrafters representative, Elvis Aguilar, as he made the entire ordering process seamless, accurate, and easy. We purchased the Morris desk, desk chair, file cabinet, and hutch for our office. Also, we needed the hutch to be custom-made, and Elvis helped to orchestrate it with the builder perfectly. I cannot recommend DutchCrafters enough.

It is soooooooooo beautiful in every way. Thank you. And as a person who was long part of the Mennonites and felt as if I were a cousin of my Amish neighbors, I am all the more pleased. Communications were excellent. Real, friendly, prompt, helpful. I expected to meet Jesse and Jordan (delivery personnel) when they delivered the new sofa, but at the last minute I could not be present. So I left a note and some tape on the floor with VERY precise wishes about the placement of the sofa. When I returned home, I thought that I myself must have put the sofa in place, because it was EXACTLY where I had hoped. Not only that, but in our phone communications, in advance of the delivery date and then on the day itself, Jesse was everything he could be: real, accommodating and helpful. Thank you!

Jesse (delivery personnel) put the sofa EXACTLY where I had intended. I felt as if I must have done it myself, but I wasn't there! Thank you.
