Proudly handcrafted by Amish artisans in Goshen, Indiana, the Green Wood Collection is American made and our only collection of outdoor Amish furniture to use Thermally Modified Wood (TMW). This revolutionary wood treatment works by heating and steaming the wood, which is then kiln-dried. The Thermally Modified Wood treatment process cooks out the sugars and waters, collapsing the cell structure within the wood. When that cell structure is collapsed, it disrupts the tendency for the wood to function as a sponge, absorbing sugars and water. Without those elements, microorganisms like fungus and mold cannot live. Thus, this amazing new Amish cedar wood outdoor furniture is far less likely to rot, decay, splinter and warp than traditional chemically treated outdoor wooden furniture.

This chemical-free process is important because the chemicals typically used in other outdoor furniture can erode bolts, screws, and steel fasteners. Thermally Modified Wood (TMW) eliminates the risk of eroding the hardware that holds the furniture together and keeps it sturdy. The Green Wood Collection furniture is finished only with Pure Wood Sealer. So, your outdoor furniture is completely chemical free.
